Juvenile detained in connection to shots fired on Clark Lane Saturday night
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
A juvenile was detained after attempting to commit a robbery and shooting at people on Clark Lane in Northeast Columbia Saturday night, according to the Columbia Police Department.
The juvenile was detained on charges of first-degree assault, first-degree robbery, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon.
According to a release from the department, officers responded to reports of shots fired in the 4800 block of Clark Ln. at around 8:20 p.m. Saturday.
When officers arrived they found two adult men who had been shot. Officers provided medical aid until EMS arrived. Both victims were taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, according to the release.
While officers were at the scene, officers were told a juvenile had arrived at a local hospital by personal vehicle with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds.
Through investigation, Columbia Police learned a juvenile had tried to commit a robbery and fired shots into a car the two adult victims were in, the release states.
An ABC News reporter on scene saw a portion of 'The Greens at Columbia' apartment complex blocked off with crime scene tape. Nearly a dozen Columbia Police Department vehicles and a Columbia Fire Department truck were also on scene.
