2024 ABC 17 Stormtrack Winter Weather Special set to air Nov. 22

Mid-Missouri saw a spring and summer that featured plenty of active weather with dozens of tornadoes and periods of flooding. Now it's time to look ahead to winter with the annual ABC 17 Stormtrack Winter Weather Special.

In the 30-minute special, viewers will get an interactive look at how humidity can affect our bodies in the cold and what role the polar vortex could play in the coming months.

The ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Team will also take a look back at some of the biggest historical winter weather events Mid-Missouri has seen.

Stories will also cover how local road crews are preparing to keep streets clear and what you can do to cut utility costs when the heater stays on.

Chief Meteorologist Jessica Hafner will close out the special by sharing her long-range winter forecast, taking into account last year's warm winter and our recent stormier spring and summer.

You can watch the ABC 17 Stormtrack Winter Weather Special on Friday, Nov. 22 at 6:30 p.m. on KMIZ.
