Two injured in three-vehicle crash in Phelps county Saturday

PHELPS COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Two people were seriously injured in a multi-vehicle crash in Phelps County Saturday afternoon.

According to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 1:20 p.m. Saturday at Mile marker 173 in the westbound lanes of Interstate 44.

The report states a 2011 Nissan Ultima driven by a 28-year-old man from Lebanon, Mo. crashed into a 2020 GMC Acadia that was slowed for traffic congestion.

The Acadia then crashed into the rear of a 2012 Toyota Camry, which was also slowed for traffic.

The driver of the Nissan and a passenger in the Acadia were taken to Phelps Health in Rolla with serious injures.

The report states both people were wearing seatbelts.
