BOONVILLE, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Boonville man was charged with three felonies after he allegedly assaulted a woman and shot at her on Monday night.

Phillip Clubb, 49, was charged with first-degree domestic assault, armed criminal action and illegal gun possession. He is being held at the Cooper County Jail on a $500,000 bond. A court date has not been set.

According to the probable cause statement, the victim told police she was assaulted by Clubb in an alley on 4th Street in Boonville after an argument. Clubb allegedly shoved the woman against a car and hit her in the back of the head twice, the statement says. Court documents say the victim didn’t know if they were hit with a gun.

Clubb then allegedly picked up a gun from the ground, aimed it at the victim and fired one shot before running away, the statement says. He also allegedly sent text messages to the victim that said he planned to kill her “if she messed with his freedom,” court documents say.

The victim had two cuts on her head, the statement says. She was treated at the Boonville Police Department and refused to be transported to a hospital.
