Columbia man faces 2 child porn charges

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Columbia man was charged with a pair of felonies related to child pornography on Wednesday.

Keegan Parnell, 21, was charged with child porn possession and second-degree promoting child pornography. He is being held at the Boone County Jail without bond. A court date has not been set.

According to the probable cause statement, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office received a CyberTip on July 1 from a reporting system that indicated multiple files of child pornography were uploaded to an online platform. The IP address of the device allegedly indicated that the uploads occurred at Parnell’s residence, the statement says.

A search warrant was served at Parnell’s residence on Wednesday, the statement says. Parnell allegedly admitting to owning the online account and to distributing child porn, the statement says.
