Man arrested after six-hour standoff in Gasconade County accused of assaulting deputy
GASCONADE, Mo. (KMIZ)
A Morrison man who was arrested following a six-hour standoff in Gasconade County on Tuesday was charged with several felonies on Wednesday.
Danny Holloway was charged with second-degree assault of a special victim and resisting arrest. He is being held on a $50,000 bond. In a separate case, he was charged with unlawful use of a weapon, two counts of first-degree property damage and two misdemeanors: Fourth-degree assault and violating an order of protection. A $20,000 bond was set in that case.
He is being held at the Franklin County Jail. An arraignment was held for the second set of charges on Wednesday and Holloway pleaded not guilty. A bond review hearing for that case is set for 9 a.m. Tuesday.
According to a social media post from the Gasconade County Sheriff’s Office, deputies served a warrant in the 100 block of Oak Street in the City of Gasconade. Deputies apparently tried to contact a man that went into the residence, but the man refused to comply, the post says.
Sheriff Scott Eiler called the owner of the building, who gave permission for deputies to enter, the post says. Holloway apparently climbed to the roof of the residence, the post says. After six hours, Eiler reduced the law enforcement presence and Holloway came down from the roof and “was taken into custody after a brief struggle,” the post says.
A Gasconade County deputy was injured during the arrest, according to the post and court documents. The deputy was brought to Hermann Hospital and suffered a torn tricep, according to court documents.
