One person hurt in Lake Ozark boat explosion

LAKE OZARK, Mo. (KMIZ) -

One person was flown to the hospital after a boat exploded inside a building in Lake Ozark on Thursday afternoon.

According to a press release from the Lake Ozark Fire Protection District, the explosion happened in the Wheel House Court area just before 1:30 p.m.

Officials said the explosion happened inside a "repair/storage type structure." Firefighters found one person at the scene with significant burns. The person was flown to a burn center. According to the press release, the person's condition is unknown Thursday evening.

The news release said that the blast made the building uninhabitable.

The Camden County Sheriff's Department also responded to the scene.
