One arrested after shots fired in Downtown Columbia Saturday morning

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Colorado man was arrested Saturday morning after a shots fired incident in Downtown Columbia.

Charlie Sneed, 41 was arrested for first-degree assault, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon and tampering with physical evidence. According to a press release from the Columbia Police Department, at 2:47 a.m. officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 800 block of East Broadway.

Two men allegedly told police they were shot at.

The release states evidence of shots being fired were found and the gun was recovered at the scene.

No injuries were reported.

Police say there is no threat to the public.

"It is believed this was a targeted event; therefore, there is no outstanding threat to the wider public," the release states.

The investigation is on-going.
