Jefferson City police arrest Michigan man after shots fired

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Police arrested a man from Michigan and one from Jefferson City after at least one shot was fired during a fight Thursday afternoon.

Officers were sent a little before 2 p.m. to the 200 block of Dawson Street for a fight, the Jefferson City Police Department said in a news release. Police determined a 25-year-old Michigan man fired after finding a spent round in front of a residence.

Investigators also found the gun used inside a residence, the release says.

The Michigan man was arrested on suspicion of unlawful use of a weapon, illegal gun possession and tampering with evidence. Officers also arrested a 27-year-old Jefferson City man on suspicion of fourth-degree assault.

The men's names were not released and information about their charges was not available in online court records Friday morning.
