CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Kansas City man was charged after a chase with law enforcement early Monday resulted in him becoming seriously injured in a crash.

Alex Dee, 29, was charged with resisting arrest and two misdemeanors: Driving while intoxicated and reckless driving. He has not yet appeared on the Camden County Jail online roster. He was seriously injured in the crash and was brought to Lake Regional Hospital by ambulance, according to a crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

The probable cause statement says that Dee was brought to the jail after he was cleared at the hospital. A warrant was issued and a $25,000 bond was set.

The crash occurred on Route MM, west of Shawnee Four Drive in Sunrise Beach, the report says.

The report says that a 2000 GMC Yukon – driven by Dee – was heading west during a chase with law enforcement. The GMC then skid and went off the left side of the road, and then went off the right side of the road and overturned, the report says. He was not wearing a seatbelt, according to the report.

According to the probable cause statement, the GMC reached more than 100 miles per hour at one point during the chase.

After the crash, a Camden County deputy wrote in court documents that he held Dee at gunpoint while more law enforcement officers arrived. The deputy wrote that Dee’s eyes were allegedly bloodshot, watery and glassy. Dee was placed under arrest while being placed in the ambulance, the statement says.
