St. Peters man arrested after armed robbery in West Columbia Saturday morning

Columbia Police arrested a St. Peters man on Saturday for an armed robbery that occurred in West Columbia.

According to a press release, Damiere French, 18 of St. Peters, Mo. was arrested for an armed robbery in the 2100 block of West Broadway. French faces charges of first-degree robbery, second-degree burglary, felony resisting arrest, armed criminal action and unlawful use of a weapon. 

A witness told police he was attempting to leave a parking lot around 11:15 a.m. when two men entered his vehicle, showed a weapon and demanded his keys and phone, the release states.

The two men then left the vehicle.

The victim later saw the suspect and provided a suspect description to police, who arrested him after a short pursuit.

Police say there are two additional suspects who are not in custody.
