One CFD firefighter injured while working fire in Northeast Columbia

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

One Columbia Fire Department firefighter was injured while working a fire in Northeast Columbia Sunday evening, according to a spokesperson from the department.

CFD spokeswoman Katherine Rodriguez said the department was called to the scene of the fire in the 1700 block of Perkins Drive at 5:45 p.m Rodriguez said crews got on scene at 5:50 and put out the fire within 10 minutes.

According to Rodriguez, the injured firefighter was taken to a hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

An ABC 17 News reporter saw three CFD trucks, one MU health ambulance and damage to the back of the home.
