COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ) -

A crash on Saturday evening closed part of a lane on Highway 63 in north Columbia and gave a man serious injuries.

A Missouri State Highway Patrol crash report said 27-year-old Madison Watts of Sturgeon was unable to make it around a curve on a motorcycle on Highway 63 southbound just north of the Brown School Road exit. The report said Watts hit a concrete culvert on the right side of the road.

Boone County Joint Communications sent out an alert around 6:30 p.m. that a lane of Highway 63 southbound near the Brown School Road exit would close to deal with a crash. An alert said the road re-opened at 6:34 p.m.

A viewer sent ABC 17 News video of the crash scene. Several Columbia police and fire vehicles responded to the crash, alongside University of Missouri Health Care. A Columbia Fire Department spokesperson said firefighters got the call about the crash at 5:42 p.m. and cleared the scene at 6:22 p.m.
