A Fulton gun dealer accused of poor business practices has been arrested.

Michael Mullet, 38, was booked into the Callaway County Jail at 4:58 p.m. Friday and is being held without bond, according to online jail records. Charges have yet to appear on Casenet.

The Callaway County Sheriff’s office said in a Sunday Facebook post that Mullet – the owner and operator of Meadowlark Outfitters in Fulton – was arrested on suspicion of forgery, fraudulent use of a credit/debit service, fraudulent gun purchases, identity theft, stealing and attempted identity theft.

The Sheriff’s Office says it began its investigation on May 10, after the office received several complaints from people claiming they made purchases from Meadowlark Outfitters, but did not receive the purchased products.

The posts states possible victims could include his family members, former customers and associates who didn’t’ know Mullet opened lines of credit at the business.

According to the Better Business Bureau's website, Meadowlark Outfitters LLC is not BBB accredited and has a B minus rating. It shows two customer complaints in the last three years.

According to previous reporting, six victims came forward after paying for items they never received since December 2018. Many ordered guns online through Meadowlark Outfitters or GunBroker.com. The purchases ranged from $450-$856.
