Substation failure cuts power to hundreds of Three Rivers Electric Cooperative members

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

More than 1,300 Three Rivers Electric Cooperative customers around Jefferson City briefly lost power Monday afternoon.

The utility said in a social media post that its transmission supplier lost power to the cooperative's Tavern substation. Crews were working to fix the problem, Three Rivers said in the post at about 1:45 p.m. Power was restored before 2 p.m., the utility said.

The utility's outage map showed an area without electricity near the Osage River close to the Lake of the Ozarks. The outages were clustered in three areas with the largest consisting of nearly 740 customers.
