2-year-old boy drowns at Lake of the Ozarks Sunday morning

LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo. (KMIZ)

A 2-year-old boy from Illinois drowned at the Lake of the Ozarks Sunday morning.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to the call at 9:45 a.m. near the Grand Glaze Arm.

According to Troopers, the boy wandered away from his family and was later found in the water.

The boy was taken to Lake Regional Hospital and pronounced dead at 11:30 a.m., according to the online report.

Troopers say, the boy was not wearing a life vest.
