An Oregon man was arrested in Sunday in Callaway County after allegedly leading multiple law enforcement agencies on a chase through multiple counties.

Juan Gonzales-Silvia, 41, was charged with first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle, two counts of resisting arrest, second-degree drug trafficking, unlawful use of a weapon, driving while revoked and removing the serial number from a gun.

He is being held without bond at the Callaway County Jail. An initial court appearance is set for 8:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Callaway County Courthouse.

Callaway County Sheriff's deputies were notified by the Missouri State Highway Patrol on Sunday about an alleged stolen vehicle that was involved with an earlier chase. Deputies came across the vehicle driving on Interstate 70 and tried to initiate a traffic stop, and Gonzales-Silvia allegedly kept driving, according to the probable cause statement.

The chase started in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 near Millersburg and exceeded 100 miles per hour, the statement says.

During the chase, Gonzales-Silvia nearly wrecked the vehicle on Route Z. He regained control and crossed the center line into oncoming traffic multiple times, according to the statement. He stopped the vehicle in the 6900 block of Route Z, got out of the vehicle and ran away.

Deputies used a Taser as Gonzales-Silvia tried to climb a fence. He was arrested.

In his backpack, police found more than 80 pills containing fentanyl and a gun with the serial number removed.

It was later learned by law enforcement that Gonzalez-Silvia had two warrants out for him in Oregon, in connection to the shooting death of his girlfriend on Wednesday, July 26.

Additionally U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has issued a detainer for Gonzales-Silvia, according to a social media post from the Callaway County Sheriff's Office.
