Boone County Fair wraps up with ham breakfast Saturday morning
COLUMBIA, Mo (KMIZ)
Saturday morning the 77 annual Ham breakfast kicked off the Boone County Fair as they wrapped up their week long festivities. This year, Just Jeff's of Columbia cooked and served the breakfast to attendees.
There was a presentation recapping this week's festivities. The fair board also awarded two volunteers at todays breakfast. Elaine George and former Boone County Fair Board President, Joe Cook, were awarded for their commitment to the Boone County Fair.
As the fair comes to a close the board is hoping to see an increase in revenue from last years $225,851 last year which is less than 2021's revenue of $241,359.
Fair officials hope this can come from an increased attendance rate. Fair board members are hoping to see 20,000 attendees this year, which would be a 5,000 person increase from last years attendance.
ABC 17 spoke with current Fair Board President, Greg Mabrey, who says so far, there have been 6,000 attendees and they expect a big turnout Saturday night.
Activites and show times can be found on the Boone County Fair's website. The fairground closes it's gates until next year Saturday night at 10 P.M.
