Tracking cooler temperatures and another dose of weekend rain

TONIGHT: Only slim chances for spotty showers remain through the evening, but it's a largely dry evening, with partly to mostly cloudy skies along the way. Temperatures fall into the upper 60s overnight.

TOMORROW: After a cooler day today, (still in the upper 80s, near normal) we will cool further tomorrow. Temperatures climb from the 60s, into the low 80s for highs on Thursday. Skies will start clear, but high clouds will be moving in shortly after sunrise, as a complex of showers and storms passes just to our southwest. Rain is unlikely to make it into the mid-Missouri region.

EXTENDED: Friday will be another slightly below average day, temperature wise. Expect highs in the low-to-mid 80s, with increasing cloud cover through the day. Chances for storms will arrive by the evening, thanks to an approaching area of low pressure to the west. It currently looks like moisture and instability return ahead of this system will be greater to our southwest, and will be somewhat modest locally. Rain will move in Friday night and linger into Saturday, but the threat of this activity carrying any severe impacts is low at this time. Rain chances will drop on Sunday, but we may see a few showers early. Monday and Tuesday look mostly dry, but Tuesday night into Wednesday, an approaching front from the north may have something to say about that. Otherwise, temperatures remain cooler than average, in the 80s through Sunday, before approaching 90 with drier conditions early next week.
