Missouri AG continues attacks on St. Louis Circuit Attorney
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) — Missouri’s Republican Attorney General is continuing his efforts to remove St. Louis Circuit Attorney Kim Gardner from office. Bailey said at a news conference Wednesday that Gardner’s decision to take nursing classes while the circuit attorney’s office struggles to prosecute crimes in St. Louis shows she is not committed to fulfilling her duties. Bailey, a Republican, began efforts in February to remove Gardner, the city’s first Black prosecutor and a Democrat. Gardner’s office said in a statement that she is a registered nurse who is taking classes at St. Louis University to add to her training and advance her mission at the circuit attorney’s office.
