Man killed in single-vehicle crash in Moniteau County Sunday

MONITEAU COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 63-year-old Rickey L. Reed of Centertown, Missouri died after being involved in a crash on Sunday. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Crash Report, the crash happened on Little Moniteau Rd., two miles east of Highway 87 in Moniteau County around 9:00 a.m.

Troopers say Reed was traveling westbound on Little Moniteau Rd. at the time when he initially traveled off the right side of the road.

After overcorrecting for his mistake, Reed then traveled off the left side of the road, crashing into two fence posts and a tree before flipping his pickup truck. Troopers say Reed wasn't wearing a seat belt at the time.

According to MSHP, Reed was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Highway Patrol says this was Troop F's 5th fatality for April and 16th for 2023.
