Man fatally shot by police during confrontation in Kansas

KANSAS CITY, Kan. (AP) — Authorities say a man was fatally shot after a confrontation with police officers in Kansas City, Kansas. The shooting happened around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday near a bridge that crosses the Kansas River. The Kansas City Star reports that an officer pulled over a vehicle for a traffic violation. Police say a “confrontation ensued” and ended when the officer shot the driver. Police identified the man as 24-year-old Amaree’ya Henderson. No further details were immediately released. The officer was treated for minor injuries.
