ABC 17 Stormtrack Severe Weather Special set to air March 24

It's been a mild winter for mid-Missouri, but what will spring bring?

The ABC 17 Stormtrack Weather Team will break down what you can expect with the annual ABC 17 Stormtrack Severe Weather Special.

Viewers will get a better understanding of how to prepare for severe weather situations by finding out how hail forms and why lightning strikes can catch people off guard, among other things.

Chief Meteorologist Jessica Hafner will also share her long-range spring forecast and track how a warming climate could lead to an increase in local heavy rain events.

The 30-minute special will air on Friday, March 24 at 6:30 p.m. on KMIZ with an encore presentation at 9:30 p.m. on FOX 22, KQFX.
