3 Kansas City officers shot, searching suspected drug house

KMIZ

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) — Authorities say three Kansas City police officers were shot and wounded while searching a suspected drug house, prompting a standoff. The Kansas City police chief told reporters outside a hospital that the tactical response team officers had forced entry into a house around 9:30 p.m. Tuesday when they were fired upon and shot back. They were taken to the hospital in non-life-threatening conditions. The State Highway Patrol says two people exited the house between early Wednesday morning and were taken into custody. Their names weren’t immediately released and no charges have been filed yet. Officers remained outside the home Wednesday morning while trying to determine whether anyone else was still inside.
