Chain-reaction crash slows Jefferson City bridge traffic
JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)
A crash that caused delays on the Missouri River bridge in Jefferson City on Thursday morning happened when a box truck rear-ended another vehicle.
Police say the Freightliner box truck was going west on the bridge when it hit another vehicle in the rear, causing a chain reaction, according to a Jefferson City Police Department news release. Five vehicles were involved and two people suffered moderate injuries, police say.
Law enforcement agencies alerted drivers about possible delays in the westbound lanes around 7:45 a.m.

A MoDOT traffic camera showed significant traffic backups from the southbound Highway 63 ramp to westbound Highway 54 and in the westbound lanes of Highway 54.
