Two killed Sunday in Chariton County after head-on crash on Highway 24

CHARITON COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Two people are dead following a head-on crash Sunday afternoon on Highway 24 in Chariton County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened about 3-miles east of Salisbury around 5:30 p.m.

Troopers said a car driven by Paul L. Busto, 57, of Clark, hit an SUV head-on after crossing the middle of Highway 24. Emergency crews pronounced Busto dead at the scene around 6:10 p.m.

According to the crash report, a passenger in the SUV, Chevy C. Ingebritson, 27, of Arvada, Colorado, died at Moberly Regional Hospital. Crews flew the driver of the SUV, Cody J. Oldham, 31, of Denver, to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries.

A spokesman for MU Health Care said Oldham is in critical condition as of Monday morning.

Everyone involved in the crash was using a seat belt, according to the crash report.
