JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

MoDOT is set to close a ramp at the Highway 54/63 interchange in Jefferson City Wednesday for about two weeks.

Crews plan to close the westbound Highway 54 exit ramp to northbound Highway 63 for repairs to the bridge over Oilwell Road. Due to the work zone, MoDOT will put message boards in place to help drivers get around the area and remind them of the ramp closure.

MoDOT plans for drivers to take westbound Highway 54 to the Route W interchange to get around the work zone. Drivers will then head back northbound to the Highway 63 interchange, according to the department.

The ramp closure is part of a MoDOT project to repair Highway 63 from Route B in Boone County to Highway 54 north of Jefferson City. Crews plan to make expected improvements to the road and several bridges.

This is the second time in two months that MoDOT closed a ramp at the Highway 54/63 interchange. Last month, crews also closed a ramp from southbound Highway 63 to Highway 54.
