Columbia to offer free Roots N’ Blues vouchers to struggling families

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The City of Columbia's Parks and Recreation Department announced it is partnering with Trio Presents, to offer free vouchers to 2022's Roots N' Blues festival.

To qualify, a family must make less than 185% of the poverty level which would be a little above $51,000 for a family of four.

Registration for the free vouchers begins on Tuesday and is set to run through Sept. 16.

There are multiple ways those interested can apply for free vouchers, including online and over the phone by calling (573) 874-7460 during normal business hours.

Winners can be expected to be notified by Sept. 23.

Four voucher requests are permitted per household, as the groups remind attendees under 14 years old have free admission.

According to the group, vouchers must be exchanged on-site at the festival, for admissions wristbands. Photo ID will be required.

Roots N' Blues has been cashless since 2017, as attendees will be required to have a wristband for entry as well as to purchase food, drinks and merchandise.

Attendees can connect debit, credit or cash to their wristband, using a chip.

More information regarding the 2022 festival can be found on Roots N' Blues website.
