The University of Missouri offers a welcome week tradition for incoming freshman

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
The University of Missouri's semester begins on Monday, along with several other universities.

Most students have already moved in and unpacked at UM, but there is still one welcome week tradition the university is offering incoming freshmen students known as the "Tiger Walk".

Mizzou's "Tiger Walk" is scheduled to take place from 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday.

Students will gather on Francis Quadrangle and run through the columns.

The symbolic run-through for students marks their official entrance to Mizzou.

Afterward, students get to enjoy ice cream and see a performance from the university's band.

William Woods University is also hosting a 'Find Your Classes Tour' on Sunday at 3:00 p.m. Everyone interested in the tour will meet at McNutt Campus Center.

The upcoming week will also be busy for both Stephens and Columbia College, as students begin returning to campus.

Stephen's students begin classes on Tuesday and Columbia College classes begin on Aug.29.

Multiple K-12 school districts will also start school in the upcoming week including Jefferson City and Columbia.

Families who have concerns about COVID-19 policies for a school district can find more information here.
