MGN

CAMDEN COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Camden County deputies have arrested a person following a shooting early Thursday morning.

Deputies responded to a home on Nuttal Oak Road near State Highway 5 for a report of a disturbance with a gun around 1:45 a.m., according to the Camden County Sheriff's Office.

Deputies said the suspect pulled a pistol during a disagreement and shot the victim.

Sgt. Scott Hines told ABC 17 News the victim was treated and released for a non-life threatening gunshot wound. Deputies said the suspect and victim are familiar with each other.

The sheriff's office and Missouri State Highway Patrol spent part of the morning searching nearby woods after the suspect ran from the scene. Deputies later found the suspect hiding at a local business and arrested them around 8 a.m.

Investigators also recovered the gun reportedly used in the shooting. At last check, the names of the suspect or victim haven't been released.

The sheriff's office plans to put out a press release about the investigation.
