Tracking dangerous heat Tuesday

Tonight: Temperatures will slowly fall to the mid-70's for the overnight low. Skies look to become partly cloudy with winds out of the southwest.

Tomorrow: A Weather Alert Day has been issued beginning at 5 AM lasting through 7 PM Tuesday due to high heat index values between 105-107 degrees across much of Mid-Missouri. Early Tuesday morning some areas could see very spotty short-lived isolated showers before conditions become mostly clear. By The mid-afternoon hours, development of scattered storms increase. Most storms look to remain south of highway 70 and east of Jefferson City. Strong downpours and strong gust will be the main threats.

Extended: Temperatures will remain dangerously high Wednesday, but an incoming cold front from the northwest looks to increase chances of afternoon scattered storms and showers that will last until Thursday morning. Sky conditions will begin to clear by Thursday afternoon as highs look to remain at or below 90 degrees. Temperatures remain into the lower 90's heading into this weekend with chances of more scattered showers and storms Sunday afternoon.
