Woman shot on Doris Drive early Tuesday morning

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Police confirm a woman was shot in north Columbia early Tuesday morning.

Officers responded to the shooting on Doris Drive near N. Creasy Springs Drive around 3 a.m., according to the Columbia Police Department. Police said the victim suffered minor injuries and wasn't taken to a hospital.

Police said officers at the scene found evidence of shots fired. An ABC 17 News crew saw officers go in and out of a home, placing evidence markers, and searching the area with flashlights. Police said in a news release that officers found gunshot damage to a home.

No one was taken into custody, according to the police department.

As of Tuesday morning, police didn't have any suspect information to release.
