Jefferson City man charged after sexually assaulting a child

MGN

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A Jefferson City man is facing a sodomy charge after an investigation began in early June.

A Cole County prosecutor has charged Orlando Woods with statutory sodomy - deviate sexual intercourse of a person under 12 years old.

The 7-year-old victim had traveled to be with her father in Texas where he said he caught her trying to do it with her 5-year-old brother. That is when the victim told her mother that the victim said it happened when she was 5-year-old and Woods lived with them at an apartment in Jefferson City, according to the probable cause statement.

During an interview with a child advocacy center in Collin County, Texas, the victim said Wood did this every day while her mom was at work, according to court documents.

Woods is scheduled to be arraigned on Friday. He does not have a defense attorney listed according to online court records.
