Four people hurt Monday in crash on Route WW near Columbia
BOONE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)
Four people were hurt Monday afternoon in a three-vehicle crash on Route WW east of Columbia.
The crash happened around 4:40 p.m. at the intersection with Olivet Road, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Troopers said a car driven by Hanna N. Lee, 21, of Columbia, tried to cross Route WW without stopping for traffic.
An SUV driven by Kalisha M. Ayuso, 47, of Fulton, crashed into the side of Lee's car, according to the crash report. Troopers said Ayuso's SUV then hit a pick-up truck head-on after the vehicle traveled into the eastbound lane of traffic.
Lee was taken to Boone Hospital with minor injuries.
Troopers said Ayuso was taken by ambulance to Women's Hospital with moderate injuries. Crews also took a passenger from the SUV, Shanoria L. Benson, 28, of Fulton, to University Hospital with minor injuries.
MU Health Care told ABC 17 News on Tuesday that Benson and Ayuso were both treated and released.
The pickup truck driver, Lowell D. Schoengarth, 77, of Columbia, was taken by crews to Boone Hospital with moderate injuries.
Troopers said Ayuso wasn't wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
Schoengarth, Benson, and Lee were all wearing seat belts, according to the highway patrol.
