Lake Race set to begin at The Lake of the Ozarks Saturday

LAKE OZARK, Mo. (KMIZ)

The 2022 Lake Race at The Lake of the Ozarks is set to begin Saturday, as races are expected to last throughout the day.

The races, are set to begin at 11 a.m. Saturday according to the race's schedule, with an opening ceremony set to take place beforehand at 10:45 a.m.

The races are set to last throughout the day until 5 p.m. Saturday evening with each race set to follow the course below, beginning at Neon Taco.

Following the races, an awards ceremony is set to take place at The Encore Lakeside Grill, at 6 p.m.

At the same time, the Missouri State Highway Patrol is reminding boaters to be safe on the water, as a busy weekend is anticipated.

The department said in a press release it expects the conditions to cause heavy boat traffic and advised all boaters to drive with an abundance of caution.

MSHP also advised anyone on the water to wear a life vest and asked those on the water to report all impaired operators to Troop F at 573-751-1000 or by dialing *55 on a cell phone.
