Tracking strong storms tonight into Wednesday morning

TONIGHT: Widespread rain and a few strong storms possible. Rain continues into Wednesday morning. Lows in the mid-upper 60s.

TOMORROW: Showers and storms likely, highs in the low to mid-70s.

EXTENDED: A slow moving cold front will continue to work southeast today into tonight, allowing showers and storms to redevelop and enter a more favorable environment for stronger storms by late afternoon. Some storms will have the potential of producing damaging winds between 60-70 mph and quarter size hail. The tornado threat is low, but not zero into tonight. Rain could be heavy at times, and localized flooding will be possible with 1-3" of rain across the area. A Flood Watch is in effect for counties along Highway 65 through Wednesday. Showers taper off Wednesday night into Thursday with the cold front to our south, leaving us cooler with highs in the mid-upper 70s. High pressure builds in on Thursday into Friday, bringing sunshine back to end the work week. This weekend starts off dry, but a few disturbances will bring the chance for scattered showers and storms on Saturday and Sunday with highs reaching near 80 degrees.
