Columbia police investigating shots fired overnight on Eastwood Drive

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Columbia police are investigating after shots were fired Saturday around 1:40 a.m. in the 2600 block of Eastwood Drive. 

On scene, officers located evidence indicating a shooting had occurred and officers were made aware that an adult male with apparent gunshot wounds had arrived at a local hospital by personal vehicle.

There is no suspect information at this time. 

This is an ongoing investigation being conducted by the Department’s Criminal Investigations Division.

  1. Here are a few more details from the police scanner.

    1:42 am, Dispatcher: “All officers. We are getting reports of shots heard in the parking lot at 2609 Eastwood Drive. Rapid succession. No word on suspect.”

    Dispatcher: “We also have another caller. Advised two cars exchanged gun shots. One was traveling eastbound towards Quick Trip on Clark.”

    Officer: “I have a scene at the south entrance to the apartment complex.”

    Officer: “I have evidence of two different shooters.”

    So, by the grace of God stray bullets did not go through some kid’s bedroom wall and kill them.
