One injured following crash in Jefferson City Sunday morning

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Jefferson City Police Department confirmed in a press release that one person was transported to the hospital with serious injuries following a crash early Sunday morning.

The crash, happened at 3:34 a.m. on Sunday near the on ramp of Highway 54 on Madison Street.

The vehicle, failed to negotiate a curve before the car went sideways. It then ran off the right-side of the road and hit a utility pole before it flipped, finally coming to a rest.

The driver, 21-year-old Chingamuyeye Sichone was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Officials said the on ramp to Highway 54 from Madison Street was closed for about two hours, while the scene was investigated by JCPD.
