A Kansas City man could face charges after he crashed a car on Highway 50 in Jefferson City on Wednesday night.

The crash happened around 11:55 p.m. at the westbound exit to Lafayette Street, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Troopers said a car driven by Johnny M. Nguyen, 24, flipped over after he went off the side of the exit ramp and hit a concrete wall.

Nguyen reportedly drove off after a trooper tried to stop him.

Troopers arrested Nguyen for careless and imprudent driving involving a crash, resisting arrest, and other crimes. Troopers released Nguyen to emergency crews for treatment of serious injuries at University Hospital in Columbia.

MU Health Care told ABC 17 News on Thursday morning that Nguyen is in fair condition.

Nguyen was wearing a seat belt, according to the crash report.
