Tracking another day with near-record heat, humidity Wednesday
TONIGHT: Partly cloudy and muggy with lows in the lower 70s.
TOMORROW: Partly to mostly sunny with highs in the lower 90s. Heat index values between 98-100.
EXTENDED: It's muggy and warm again tonight with a spot shower possible around sunset, but not expecting much more than that with the bulk of today's storm action yet again across the upper Great Lakes into Wisconsin. We'll fall into the low 70s to start off tomorrow morning with another hot day ahead. Expect more sunshine and few clouds, allowing another day in the lower 90s. Tomorrow's record of 90 will be in jeopardy once again. Thursday could be the one day where we fall just short of the 93 degree record, but still expect highs between 89-91. Thursday afternoon and evening, a cold front to our west will bring the potential of severe weather to parts of the Dakotas, Iowa, and Nebraska. We could see the leftovers of this system on Friday morning with scattered showers and a few storms possible. The severe threat will be minimal with a lack of wind shear to support storm growth over Mid-Missouri. The front will be quite slow as it works its way east into Saturday, but ahead of the front we could see widely scattered showers and storms on Saturday with continued highs in the lower 80s. Once the front slides through on Sunday, our chances for rain will decrease and so will the temperatures. Highs reach the upper 70s on Sunday and Monday with a tranquil and cooler start to next week.
