MoDOT set to start repairs on Highway 42 near Lake of the Ozarks

MILLER COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Missouri Department of Transportation is set to start Wednesday a months-long repair project on Highway 42 near the Lake of the Ozarks.

Crews are expected to resurface the highway and replace guardrails along the road between Osage Beach and Iberia. MoDOT expects the work to last through June.

Drivers should expect to find lane closures in the work zones from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.

Once repairs are finished on Highway 42, crews will start expected improvements to Highway 54 in Osage Beach.

Workers plan to resurface the highway between the Grand Glaize Bridge and the Osage Beach Parkway/Highway 52 interchange. The department expects the work to wrap up in late July.

MoDOT said drivers should plan for delays during the repairs. Drivers are also asked to use caution when going through the work zones.

At the same time, the department plans to open the Bagnell Dam Bridge at the Lake of the Ozarks Friday after a rehabilitation project started in the fall.

Crews closed the bridge in September to repair the bridge deck, expansion joints, sidewalks, and barrier walls.

The department said crews need prolonged warm and dry weather to make final improvements to the bridge.

MoDOT expects to close the Bagnell Dam Bridge again for several days in the future but will keep the bridge open on the weekends.

The department plans to notify drivers once dates are picked for the bridge closure.
