Mizzou softball gets the sweep against No. 12 Kentucky

LEXINGTON, KY. (KMIZ)

It only took Mizzou softball five innings Monday to secure the series sweep against No. 12 Kentucky.

The Tigers won 9-1 in game three with the bats on fire from the start.

Brooke Wilmes had a solo home run and double on the day with three RBI's.

Kimberly Wert hit a grand slam in the third inning, her second of the series and fourth homer of the series to put the Tigers up 7-1.

Kendall Bailey secure the run-rule with a two-run homer and Mizzou gets the sweep in Lexington.

This is the Mizzou softball team's first conference series win since the beginning of April winning 8-7 in game two and 13-0 on Saturday.

Next, Mizzou will play Wednesday against St. Louis at 4 p.m. at Mizzou Softball Stadium.
