MONROE COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

Five people were hurt on Monday morning after a crash on Route J in Monroe County.

The crash happened around 7:50 a.m. in the eastbound lanes near Duncan's Bridge, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Troopers said an SUV driven by Tessie, C. Gorham, 33, of Clarence, Missouri, overturned after the vehicle left the road, hit a signpost, and part of a bridge.

A helicopter flew a 12-year-old boy with serious injuries to University Hospital in Columbia. Troopers said Benjamin E. Gorham, 26, of Clarence, Missouri, was taken to University Hospital with serious injuries.

Tessie Gorham, a 9-year-old girl, and an 11-year-old boy were treated for minor injuries.

Troopers said everyone in the SUV was wearing a seat belt.
