Friend speaks out after Angela Rice remains found in the Rocky Fork Conservation Area

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Angela Rice remains were found Sunday near the Rocky Fork Conservation Area over three months when she was reported missing.

Angela was known by her friends as Angie, where she worked at the Perche Creek Cafe with her lifelong friend Richelle Miller. Miller has been distraught throughout this process and said that she misses her friend and that this has been a difficult time for her.

"She was a great person, she was nice, sweet, you know, it's hard to explain, because she was such a good person," said Miller.

Capt. Brian Leer, with Boone County Sheriff's Office, said that the investigation into the death of Rice is still ongoing.

"Although it's sad and you know friends and family are mourning her loss, it is kind of bittersweet because it did provide some closure so that there's not that unknown of, you know, is she still alive somewhere or is her body somewhere it may never be found, so lucking we were able to bring some closure in that aspect of the case," said Capt. Leer.

While Rice's body has been recovered, Miller said she doesn't feel like she has received closure yet.

"No, no I don't because I want answers. We want to know why nobody took the time before to look for her. Why the cops didn't put it on tv," said Miller.

The autopsy has yet to be performed, and it's still too early in the investigation to know whether or not foul play was involved.
