Mizzou football newcomers shine in spring game

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Mizzou football team showed off some of its new talent at its annual spring game on Saturday. Team Mizzou went on to beat Team Tigers 35-34.

MU defensive back Daylan Carnell started the game with a pick-six and ended the game with an interception to secure the win for Team Mizzou.

Quarterback Brady Cook got the start for Team Mizzou, and Tyler Macon started for Team Tigers.

  • Macon 16/23 | 233 yards | TD | 2 INT

The game featured several big plays from Tiger newcomers. Five-star wide out Luther Burden caught his first career touchdown in the second quarter. He finished with 81 yards receiving.

Former Rock Bridge star Nate Peat also got in the end zone. The Stanford transfer ran for a score for Team Tigers.

On defense - former Clemson safety Joseph Charleston came away with an interception in his MU debut.
