Troopers arrest man after Jefferson City chase ends in multi-vehicle crash

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (KMIZ)

The Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested a Mexico, Missouri man on Monday afternoon following a chase that ended in a multi-vehicle crash.

Myron S. Mahaney, 22, was arrested by troopers just after 2:05 p.m. for several crimes, including two counts of armed criminal action and second-degree drug trafficking, according to the arrest report.

Troopers said Mahaney was in an SUV that crashed into a car driven by Tiffany R. Ayala, 18, of Centertown, Missouri, near westbound Highway 50 and Dix Road. Ayala's vehicle spun around and hit a pickup truck, according to the crash report.

Troopers said the SUV crashed into a fourth vehicle after going northbound on Dix Road.

Ayala was taken by ambulance to SSM St. Mary's in Jefferson City with minor injuries, according to the highway patrol. Troopers said Ayala was wearing a seat belt.

Emergency crews took Mahaney by ambulance to SSM St. Mary's with minor injuries. Mahaney was not wearing a seat belt, according to the crash report.
