Hearings set for teens accused in fatal Columbia shooting

COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)

Hearings are set for two teens in custody for a Columbia killing.

The Boone County Juvenile Office says the court set hearings for two of the three teens police suspect of murder in the death of Aubry Doxley.

Aubry's mother, Latoya said Aubry was laying in her bed when the shots came through the window and killed her.

One teen will get a hearing on April 22, and another will have his on April 29.

The court will decide if both need to be tried in adult court.

The third teen is in custody in Illinois waiting to come back to Missouri. An informant tipped Peoria police off that the boy was in town.

The McKee Street area has a history of deadly gun violence. In June 2020, a 16-year-old victim was shot at while riding his bike. In September 2019, a woman and man were shot and killed. In September 2017, a man was shot and killed.
