St. Louis boy killed after crash on Highway 54 in Callaway County
CALLAWAY COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)
An eight-year-old St. Louis boy is dead after a crash on westbound Highway 54 in Callaway County on Wednesday night.
The crash happened around 9:40 p.m. near the Highway AA/OO exit, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Troopers said a van driven by Elizabeth C. Miller, 40, of Fulton, crashed into the back of a car that stopped in a westbound lane of traffic.
The van flipped over before landing on its wheels, according to the crash report. A helicopter flew Miller to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries.
Troopers said Miller was wearing a seat belt.
Four people in the car, including the boy, were taken to the hospital. Troopers said the boy was pronounced dead at Captial Region Medical Center in Jefferson City just before 10:30 p.m.

A two-year-old boy and a 40-year-old woman were treated for moderate injuries, according to the highway patrol. Troopers said the driver of the car, Anisya Wilson, 23, of Jefferson City, was taken to University Hospital with moderate injuries.
No one in the car was wearing a seat belt, according to the crash report.
