Teen killed in shooting on McKee St. in Columbia; two others injured
COLUMBIA, Mo. (KMIZ)
Columbia Police are investigating a homicide situation that happened on McKee St. early Saturday morning that killed one and injured two others.
Around 12:40 am. Saturday, Columbia Police officers responded to a report of shots fired in the 1800 block of McKee Street.
Officers located three victims with gunshots wounds. A juvenile female victim was located inside a residence. Officers immediately began providing emergency medical care until she was transported to a local hospital by EMS.
The victim was pronounced deceased at the hospital. Next of kin has been notified.
Officers learned that a juvenile male victim was transported to a local hospital in a personally owned vehicle. An adult male victim declined medical attention at the scene.
One woman who wanted to remain anonymous told ABC 17 News she moved to the Mckee St. area last August and three shootings happened in the first week of her living there. Another resident who also wanted to remain anonymous says he heard about 20 shots.
"I was watching tv and all I hear was, boom, boom, boom, and first thought was to check on my kids, make sure they alright," said the resident. The resident added he feels things shouldn't end with gun violence and that people should think about their decision.
The resident says he has two children and would be hurt if he lost them. "That would hurt me inside so much, I can't even like imagine how that feels ."
Ebony Williams, a woman who lived in the Mckee St. area for three years, said the female victim was friends with her daughter and the two rode the bus to Battle High School together.
There is no suspect information at this time. This is an ongoing investigation.

ORIGINAL REPORTING: Multiple Columbia Police officers were seen investigating along McKee St. in Columbia around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, according to ABC 17 News Crews on scene.
ABC 17 saw around five or six CPD cars and a scene marked off with police tape. Officers were seen searching the area with flashlights and news crews saw several evidence markers on the ground.
