WINTER WEATHER UPDATES: Jackknifed tractor-trailer closes Highway 124

Boone County emergency dispatchers say Highway 124 is closed near Brown Avenue in Hallsville because of a jackknifed tractor-trailer.
Other details were not immediately available. It wasn't clear how long the outage would last.
3 p.m.
A stretch of highway in Audrain County was closed Friday afternoon because of "an incident north of Laddonia near the ethanol plant," the Missouri Department of Transportation said.
Highway 54/19 north of Laddonia might be shut down for two hours, MoDOT said.
Drivers were being detoured on Routes J, B and KK, the agency said. MoDOT warned that roads in the area were still packed with ice and snow. Details on the incident were not immediately available but the highway patrol said a two-vehicle crash happened in that area.
11:35 a.m.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports troopers have responded to more than 40 calls for service since midnight.
Troopers received at least 16 calls for stranded drivers and 19 calls for non-injury crashes, according to a Twitter post by the highway patrol.
So far this morning, Troop F has received 41 calls for service. This includes 16 stranded motorists and 19 non-injury crashes.

The highway patrol also warned drivers of icy road conditions across Mid-Missouri on Friday.
10 a.m.
The Missouri Department of Transportation is warning drivers of traffic backups on Interstate 70 westbound in Columbia because of stalled tractor-trailers.
The stalled vehicles are causing backups from near the I-70/Highway 63 connector to mile marker 131, the agency said. MoDOT's travel map says a crash in that area is causing a delay that could last an hour.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol said troopers have been sent to 1,602 calls statewide since midnight, including 649 stranded drivers and 480 crashes with 40 injuries. No one has died in crashes on state highways during the storm.
9:30 a.m.
Boone County emergency dispatchers have sent out an alert about a crash at the 126.7 mile marker of Interstate 70 westbound near Providence Road.
Other details were not available. The alert did not say the road was closed.
8:40 a.m.
MoDOT is warning drivers of possible delays after a crash Friday morning on Interstate 70 in Columbia.
Boone County Joint Communications sent out an alert around 8:25 a.m. about the crash in the eastbound lanes near mile-marker 125. The eastbound passing lane of I-70 is blocked, according to the alert.
MoDOT's Traveler Information Map showed at 8:29 a.m. drivers should expect delays in the area for at least an hour. More details about the number of vehicles involved in the crash or if anyone is hurt weren't immediately available.
8:20 a.m.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol's Troop F responded to dozens of calls for service on Thursday.
Troopers received 174 calls for service, which included 88 stranded drivers and 47 crash investigations, according to the highway patrol.

Troopers said two of the crashes involved injuries. The conditions of the victims weren't immediately available.

7:50 a.m.
The city of Columbia reports a 31-person snowplow crew reported in for work around 7 a.m. on Friday.
Plow crews plan to treat and clear residential streets throughout the day, according to the Columbia Public Works Department. Plow trucks also plan to return to some priority routes across the city to help break up the snowpack.
As temperatures rise Friday morning, some plow trucks will return to plowing priority streets as the snowpack starts to break up. It is at this point that snow on the roadway will begin to fluff and slush up and will need to be plowed away.

The public works department also expects to lift Columbia's parking restriction on snow routes later Friday. Drivers who leave their vehicles parked on priority snow routes face possible fines and towing fees.

The Missouri Department of Transportation reported poor road conditions across Mid-Missouri Friday morning.
Interstate 70, Highway 54, Highway 63, and other roads are still covered with snow and ice, according to the department's Traveler Information Map website. MoDOT posted on Twitter plow crews worked overnight to treat and clear local roads.
